1.1 NGX – Listed Equities
At the close of market on Tuesday, the domestic bourse recouped previous losses on renewed investors' interests in NNFM (+8.20%), CONOIL (+7.02%), MTNN (+3.47%), NESTLE (+1.18%), UACN (+0.91%), OANDO (+0.90%), ETERNA (+0.68%), ACCESSCORP (+0.21%), and 28 others. Consequently, the All-Share Index (ASI) rose 0.10%, closing at 98,206.97 points compared to 98,107.52 points the previous session. Market capitalisation increased by N60.29bn, settling at N59.53trn, bringing the year-to-date return to 31.34%.
The market breadth closed positively at 0.24x, with 36 gainers against 20 losers and 67 unchanged equities. GOLDBREW topped the gainers' list, while JOHNHOLT topped the losers' list. Notably, GOLDBREW, AFRIPRUD and TANTALIZER continued to trade above their 52-week high, while HMCALL traded below its 52-week low of N5.65 to close at N5.27.
The total volume traded advanced by 115.44% to close at 939.41, valued at N12.81bn and traded in 9,098 deals. WAPIC was the most traded stock by volume, with 457.64m units traded, while MTNN was the most traded stock by value, worth N4.32bn
The Gote and Samad indexes closed flat at 252.83 points and 321.88 points, respectively, while the Toni index was down 0.06% to close at 1,676.87 points.
Volume and Value Contribution
WAPIC was the most traded in volume, contributing 48.72%, while STERLING and JAPAULGOLD followed closely with 14.74% and 3.23%, respectively.
MTNN contributed the most in value traded, with a 33.72% share, while WAPCO and UBA followed closely.
